Come by the GentXt event and sign the banner on Saturday, January 24th at Woodland Hills Mall in the Food Court area from 10AM – 3PM.
Show your support of an ‘all-driver text ban’ in Oklahoma by signing your name to the “it’s not OK to text & drive” banner. GentXt teen leaders will take this banner to Oklahoma City on February 11th for “Generation tXt Day at the Capitol” to advocate for a public-safety bill.
Text messaging while driving is a particular concern and danger because it combines three types of distraction: manual, visual and cognitive. Please drive with two hands on the wheel, two eyes on the road and keep your mind on the task of safe driving.
Text Messaging Laws: Washington was the first state to pass a texting ban in 2007. Currently, 44 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands ban text messaging for all drivers. All but 5 have primary enforcement. Of the 6 states without an all driver texting ban: 4 prohibit text messaging by novice drivers. 3 restrict school bus drivers from texting. (Glad to report thatOklahoma has laws to prohibit novice and school bus drivers from texting.)
